Passenger side seat airbag and heating issue

Hello!

I'm new to the forum and I'm not sure where to post, but my issue is with my passenger seat, I was told my a mechanic that it could be the mat in the seat that needs to be replaced ( I am car illiterate ) and from what I read the solution pretty much is replacing the seat. My problem is that my years model ( 2012 sonic lt ) has discontinued the part that I need : 95942523

If I cant find a replacement , I'm wondering though if I can grab a seat from another year of sonic and fit what i need from that? I've seen other years parts come up in my area

You didn't really specify what the issue is, but I'm assuming the seat heater element isn't working? Is it only the bottom portion of the heater that isn't working? What about the back? GM has discontinued selling the cushions with the heater element installed, but it looks like the part numbers applied to 2012 through 2016 models. You should be able to buy any used heated passenger seat from those years to replace yours that isn't working.

Sorry forgot to add the details, Yeah it is a couple things actually, the passenger airbag is not activating, and the heated seat isn't working ( turns on for a couple seconds then deactivates)

There's a sensor in the passenger seat to detect whether someone is sitting in the seat or not. Is it possible someone removed the passenger seat and didn't plug the electrical connections back in?

So I ended up finding a passenger seat from a 2017 chevy sonic. I followed a guide that was off of this forum of another user with a similar issue. Long story short, I replaced the seat cushion that has the airbag sensor and hearing element, and now the passenger airbag is working correctly!

Unfortunately the passenger heated seat still isn't working, so it's something else.
But I'm just glad the airbag works
