Passport Mounting

If anyone uses an escort passport radar detector, what is your take on this mounting option?

Does the OnStar power in the mirror provide power in such a way that we could use the pigtail power connector that is included?

I have also noticed that the stem on the mirror back doesn't exactly seem to be cylindrical, and am therefore wondering which option would work best for the sonic.

Yea you can grab power from the mirror.

The radars are usually best place on the center, lower part of the windshield.

Don't waste money on a radar detector.

They are gonna catch you. If you wanna outrun cops, but a car with a much higher/faster top speed.

If you want to avoid cops, move to Montana.

Post # 16 shows how I installed my Escort Passport 8500 Blue.
I didnt hardwire it because I sometimes move it between vehicles, but did add an outlet in the LH cubby to shorten the power wiring and to provide access to reach the mute button for the detector.

The problem isn't buying the radar detector, I already have it, but thanks for your input.

Also FYI they work amazingly actually, its not about outrunning the cops, its about slowing down before they see you. I have saved WAY more than the price of the detector and I bought the expensive one, lol

bro just think like where they are gonna hit u with radar, hood, front bumper anything shiny on ur front end, mount it low center, although keep in mind if u do get pulled over, and they see it, you got no chance, cuz that tells them u speed, on a regular basis, or just take it down quick when ur getting pulled over n hide it , and hope he dosent think your going for a gun lol but,, none of that has stopped me yet, I told a cop that I use it to help me be aware of my surroundings better, he laughed and let me go:banana:

I noticed the new Stingray reverse the angle of the radiator and am wondering if that will have any effect on the radar/laser!
