PLEASE HELP engine overheating

OK, so I have a 2017 1.4 turbo Chevy sonic. From the day that I came to buy the car it was overheating and they change the coolant reservoir saying that was the problem. Somehow another it ran fine for about a week at interstate speed, driving more than an hour one way. Then it started to overheat. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was a head gasket. I changed the head gasket and it still overheats. I brought it back to the dealer. They said it was the coolant reservoir again, so they change the coolant reservoir . Again, it ran fine for a week and then it started overheating. Now they are telling me that the entire turbo oil coolant and oil lines need to be changed which is a $2000 bill. Obviously at this point I have zero faith and their ability to diagnose , has anyone had anything similar happen to their car and at least have a good idea of what’s wrong? Every time that the car overheats it’s after a long drive of 45 minutes more or less at 70 mph or so is when it starts.

Has the thermostat ever been replaced? If you aren't losing coolant this is the first thing I would check. I changed thermostat housing, coolant outlet and coolant reservoir with metal parts from ZZP. No more coolant leaks or overheating issues.

I own the exact same car and I just had a mechanic look at it last week. He gave me the EXACT same list of issues as your car. He even said it wasn’t worth it to work on because these cars were built shoddily. I’m replacing what I can with aluminum versions but I’m going to be selling my Sonic as soon as possible.

I ended up biting the bullet because I didn’t have a choice and I have not had a problem with it yet. I did take the busted exhaust pipe to a exhaust specialist in my hometown and it was only 150 bucks versus that nearly 400 they would’ve charged..

Are you still having this issue? I have been chasing overheating issues for a while, to save face I won’t say how long. I have a 2014 Sonic 1.4L turbo. I have recently found my gremlin. Check the three silver studs in your fuse box are tight. My right stud was loose enough to cause intermittent connection issues in my fuse box which misled a lot of my diagnostics by checking certain components off the list because when the car was parked it was receiving sufficient connection. Snug the studs and see if that fixes the issue.
