Poping off the Dashboard

Hey everyone, havn't really posted much but have been hanging around in the forums a bit.

I tried a search and looked through a few pages. I know this topic has been discussed. My goal is to put carbon fiber vinyl on some of the dash pieces around the AC controls and radio. If you could please put a quick guide on how to pop the plastic on the dash off safely, or just send me towards the thread that talked about it.

Again, sorry if there is already a thread on this, I just had trouble finding it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Most of the dash parts just pop off. Try a plastic butter knife if you don't have actual interior body panel tools. But they are cheap, like $10 for a set.

The tach is another story. The top cover (on the dash between the gauges and the windshield) pops off. Exposing the screws holding the gauges in.

Just pry carefully. Actually if you are talking about the circle vent bezels, you're better off squeezing them by hand, and the little tabs will release.

The ac control panel is screwed in as is the top pocket above the radio.

I just want to take the silver piece on the front of the face off, so I can paint it red instead of the silver.

As I was trying to get the pieces off I had to start with the AC Silver part. I Took the shift boot off and the fake leather plastic around it and was able to get to the two screws at the bottom but it seems there are more above, I was wondering if anyone could let me know how they got to all the screws and how it came off. Thanks again for the help

Yup there are 2 screws on top of it. You have to remove the radio bezel to get to them.
