I can honestly say I never paid attention to potholes until I bought a brand new car. Every bump and pothole is like a knife in my heart. I've only been driving my new sonic for a week, and already I've hit a bunch of potholes (nothing too major, but still). This is the life in a major New England city (and we arent' even in snow season yet!)
I try to avoid them of course, but it's not always possible. I've gotten so paranoid and super sensitive to the car's vibrations. I don't know if it's in my head, but i"m now convinced that it's shaking more on rough roads than it did a week ago. Rationally, I realize that cars are built tough enough to withstand some potholes, but still. In your experience, how does your Sonic handle potholes? Is it normal for the sonic to be sensitive to rough roads, and for the ride to be bumpy? I've also noticed a vibration in the car that pops up from time to time when I'm idling; I can feel it in the steering wheel. I don't know it it's me just getting to know the car better; me being super paranoid; or something being legitimately wrong. I just hate the idea of taking a one week old car to a mechanic, so any input is much appreciated!
