Hi,
I've got my hp tuners and currently trying to get comfortable with data logging using VCM scanner. I am new to this and trying to enjoy the learning process as a new hobby.
What PIDs are you guys logging for your tuning?
I'm trying to set up my primary table in the scanner using the E78 tuning guide from HP tuners as a reference. However, some of PIDs the guide says we should log are not working (no values are showing up once scanning begins). Please see below for the list of PIDs that are not providing values:
- MAP (SAE) kPa
- MAP Hi-Res (SAE) kPa
- MAF2
- ETC Pedal Average Position
- ETC Desired Position
- Injector Pulse Width Avg. Bank2
At this point, I'm not sure whether it is really necessary to log all the PIDs the guide is telling us to log...
Also, how are you guys logging boost (actual) in PSI? I've tried the method provided in the 'help file', but the scanner has rendered it "unsupported parameter".
In order to see the boost values in PSI, I am currently converting in the Excel after exporting the log file by using the following formula; (Boost Sensor Pressure kPa - 100)*.0145037738
Is there anyway I can do the conversion within the scanner by creating an user defined PID?
My apologies for lots of dumb newbie questions. I guess we all have to start somewhere!
Thanks in advance
