rear windshield wiper is loose

Hi:
Got out of work, and it was snowing. The rear windshield wiper was stopping half way, and the mechanism at the bottom is loose. Anything I can do myself to fix this?

If the wiper arm is loose: Lift up the plastic cover at the end, this will reveal the nut where the wiper arm attaches through the window. Loosen the nut, make sure the arm is in the proper position, then tighten. (Check the condition of the wiper arm, it may need to be replaced as they do crack)

If that doesn't correct the issue you can remove the panel inside the hatch door and check where the arm motor is mounted. Verify it's secured.

Thanks carsNskis. I caved in and took my car to my Chevy dealer. He replaced the arm and redid the timing of the wiper motor.
