Remote Start????

hey guys i just found out what the circle arrow button on my keyfob is for it only took me a year lol mainly because i wasnt worried about it but its now getting to be 13 degrees soo how do i know if i have remote start installed or if i have to go get from dealer??? i have a 2012 sonic LT 1.8l hatchback its an newer model 2012 thanks

Push the button and see if it starts?

Hit the lock button. Then hit the remote start button within a second or two and hold it for 3 seconds.

Yeah I usually hit the lock button twice to hear the horn then I hold the arrow circle button on the key fob until I hear my exhaust then I know it started.

Yes hit the lock button twice, then press and hold the start button for a few seconds! It should fire up.

I dont know about the Sonics, but I have 2 friends that have 2012 Malibus (1 has remote start, the other does not -- the one "without" remote start, does not have the arrowhead circle on the keyfob)! So to answer the OP. My guess is-if your keyfob (switchblade key) has the button, it probably has the option.

I think this can be done simpler. If you have an automatic it has remote start. If you have a standard you do not.

Does need to be an automatic transmission.
