I've made a revision to the heatshield that comes in the Sonic intake kit that makes installation easier and allows the heatshield to seal against the hood without affecting hood fitment once closed. Occasionally, I get customers mentioning that the hood seems to be slightly held up on the side that comes in contact with the heatshield. Most of the time an adjustment of how the heatshield is lined up in the engine bay fixes this, but the new revision should eliminate this from ever being a possible issue.
If any of you have experienced this and would like to remedy it, I have made a stack of patterns that can easily be laid in place, marked, and cut/ground out of your existing heatshield with something as simple as a dremmel. If you are interested is doing this, send me an email with a ship to address, and I'll put a pattern in the mail to you, free of charge. If you do not feel confident doing this, I can do it for you, but you will have to pay shipping to and from. I will not charge anyone to perform the procedure. Currently, I'm doing this revision by cutting all the new heatshields out by hand. After this batch is gone, the revision will be added to the CAD drawing to be laser cut like the rest of the heatshield.
This modification also allows you to reinstall the same seal as previous so there is nothing new that must be added. I've added some photos to better illustrate what I'm talking about.
