28K miles, always sits outside.
So I was on vacation for 2 weeks, placed the car in the garage. Backed out of the garage and noticed two trails of Rust.... They came from the inside (top and bottom) of the front rotors. (This was the thanks I got for allowing it the garage)
At first I was upset that the pads & tires are still good but the rotors were the first to fail - until I pulled a wheel, found the pads were kinda low also - figured I replace them both.
Went to NAPA - Bought their best "Ultra-Premium" - Coated Rotors - trying to avoid the same issue on the next change.
Next day I started what I thought would be a hour job, replacing both front Rotors & Pads.
The rotors would not come off, tried beating with a 40oz hammer, lead hammer, heated with a propane torch, beat some more - would not move (yes I took the rotor screw out)
Finally gave up and went on-line, YouTube, found a few videos where folks placed a bolt & nut through the caliper mounting holes and used the bolts to "Push" the Rotor off - IT WORKS! Never again will I waist time / energy beating on rotors (which can't be a good thing)
YouTube - amazing, it paid for my internet bill this month!
