Rs steering swap question

Hey guys I was thinking about swapping my no option steering wheel in my 2012 sonic out for a sonic rs steering wheel. Now would I be able to use any of the buttons on the rs steering wheel? I know I won't be able to use cruise cause I do not have that option. But I was wondering if the volume control/phone buttons would work.

Or are the wires not even there because I have a no option steering wheel?

U would not have the right wire harness and clock spring

check the replacement part numbers... some times you get lucking everything is there just not the steering wheel options. It is most likely that Ms.DannyStone is correct... you will probably have to get the wiring harness, clock-spring and have the BCM flashed.

Got an idea: call a local scrapyard and see if they have a sonic RS. Go, take the steering wheel off to see if the bolt patterns, wiring, etc. will fit. If so, they will probably sell it to you for dirt cheap. I had a cracked coolant reservoir and bought one off of a sonic at a scrapyard for $40, compared to the standard $100 for replacement. I am thinking of seeing if I could buy an RS steering wheel and put it on my 2012 LT. It has 152,000 miles...and the steering wheel is actually coming apart in little crumbs now. I bought it a year and a half ago and have only put 15K miles on it.
