Scangauge 2 vs. Scangauge e

Hello those who have more knowledge than me.

I've seen a number of recommendations for Scangauge as an excellent tool or saving fuel, and improving performance. My main goal is to maximize fuel economy, regardless of performance impact. Heck, I drove home at 55 the other day!

Looking at the additional info that Scangauge 2 provides, is it worth the extra $60 over Scangauge e for someone not looking to mod or tune? Or am I missing a major point somewhere?

Looks like the ScanGaugeE has all the gauge features but not the CEL reading stuff. I suppose if you ever did need a code read you could go to an autopart store, most will read codes for free.

I do already have a cReader ODB II code reader if my cars do throw an error. Thing has saved me hundreds of bucks.

I was looking at the website for the ScanGauge's and it actually looks like they both have virtually all the same capabilities, including pulling trouble codes. So maybe the only real difference is the display, the ScanGauge-e has what looks like a rolling graph type display for mpg.

When I bought my ScanGauge II several years ago it was the only model they had, now they have ones geared for diesels, the 'e' and more!

Also, I mentioned it in another thread but if anyone has had a ScanGauge II for a while, they have a newer firmware you can upgrade to which give you some really good additional features.

Actually I ended up answering my own question.

Ultragauge it is! Love the bigger display, and the price is right.
