Sedans w/ sunroof -- do you have roof ridges?

I have the OEM sunroof on my 2012 hatchback. I ordered a wind deflector for it, similar concept as the one seen below:

The one I ordered was supposedly sized for the 2012 sonic.

Trouble is, the roof on the hatchback has two "ridges" that run fwd-aft ... the deflector is just slightly too wide, and its ends sit up on these ridges -- preventing the deflector from sitting flush against the roof.

I contacted the company that sells it, they say there's only one size for the Sonic. So, what I'm trying to determine is: does the sedan version have these same ridges? Perhaps they designed this deflector using the sedan for their test vehicle, and didn't realize the roof on the hatchback was different? ....or are they same?

They seemed to imply the deflector needed to extend two inches past the outside edges of the sunroof opening ... so I suppose another possibility is that they simply got a measurement on the opening and didn't bother to verify it would sit properly.

But ... that's what I'm trying to find out. Someone with a sedan & sunroof, can you have a look see? Is your roof smooth all the way across from left to right? Or does it have a small ridge close to the doors on either side?

Our Sonic sedan with a sunroof also has the raised ridge on either side of the sunroof opening; they are about 2.5 inches wide. It measures about 34 inches between ridges, (inside to inside)

This is something I'm trying to determine. Wouldn't take much to trim some off the bottom near the outside ends, to provide enough clearance ... but I'm not sure I wan't to risk it and then not be able to return it. But then, I'd still be stuck without one...
