I changed my serpintine belt about 4 months ago with a Good Year part #1060545 / 6pk1384 the process was easy enough it was a Amazon it fits your vehicle purchase i did the install and called it a day . After 4 months or so and very low miles I heard some rattling under the hood I thought it was the tensioner since I did not change it with the belt .
I looked at the tensioner and it was basically riding the crank shaft pulley only thing in between them was the belt otherwise they would be touching each other.
I can kick myself for not saving my original belt I do not remember the tensioner being that close to the crankshaft pulley moving on I decided to take action on the noise and I bought another tensioner and when I went to do the install it turns out it was not the tensioner it was the water pump the bearings in the water pump were making a lot of noise so now I had to buy a water pump so I did and then went to the dealer to buy the correct AC Delco belt using my VIN number now I should have the right one right well after the install the tensioner is riding the crankshaft pulley just like it was before and I feel that the reason why the water pump bearings went out is because the belt was too tight I believe it was too short.
The dealer swears that it's the right one according to my VIN number if anybody has time can you tell me what ACDelco belt you have used and if you had any problems with your water pump after you installed it there are so many belts listed and they list so many different numbers this fits the vehicle this fits vehicle this I think the belt is a little bit too tight and it should be about a quarter of an inch to 3/8 longer the AC Delco number that I'm using is AC Delco #55595700 PDM 1390.
