I have an opel turbo, oem style that bolts up to the 1.8.

Waiting for summer to start throwing things together.
Then assuming I pass that step, convincing one of the big two to tune it.

Looks like there will be a fair amount of "plumbing" involved and some other parts relocation.

Interesting to follow how it goes.

replace oil filter housing with opel one
oil and coolant supplies and drains
pcv reroute
wastegate solenoid and intake air sensor wired into ecm
map changed to 3 bar
find some place to hook the bpv to on the manifold
magically find space to run intercooler pipes
stock 1.4 downpipe with 1.4 midpipe


I'm sure I'm missing something

Funny but when I post it it’s a damn big ass binge on how it can’t be done. When this is clearly a 1.8 Ecotec also not the only one ever there is a few on YouTube yes they’re not active and waiting on Matt to get his parts from machine shop cause he has put two videos in last week tops. But by now it’s not like putting it on a stock 1.8 motor. Also he did no internal damage to the block when it was driving it was an oil blow back from his catchcan or not having one or something he didn’t blow the motor u should watch instead of skim as you say

Dude ... . my original post about this is over 2 years old. So far. . no one has one running. I was interested now am just bored with all the hype of every person who gets all excited and nada happens.

And. . again .. . another 1.8L turbo build that still is not working. .. as I said. I won;t get hyped by a lot of chatter. Show me a 1.8L turbo build complete and running reliably as a daily drive long term.

Then why even bring your negativity to the table? Just because you didn’t have the way the will the want or the whatever it was to make it happen doesn’t mean it’s impossible because that is just ridiculous with enough money anything can be done first off. And second off there’s more than just Matt on YouTube also why don’t you look into the euro 1.6 Holden Cruze turbo it has the exact same exact exhaust/ manifold gasket as a 1.8. Also when Matt broke his engine apart the rods were forged the block will hold low boost period. Finding someone to tune it right is the only issue or at least the biggest issue. Hell Matt tuned his and if you watched the whole video you’d seen with it boosting it had no internal damage but since it’s broke apart he sent it off. And put the new catch can on. Either way he’s doing something positive for not only himself but this forum and a group of 1.8 owners he doesn’t even know. Just keep your negativity somewhere else

This one he clearly breaks the engine down and there is no internal damage from the boost the oil in the tube happens even in regular cars it’s the oil blow back or by whatever but here is the other ones from this week. Also the one showing 1.8 has forged rods and strong enough internals to take small amount of boost

The last two are within the last week not a year ago also.oh and here’s some more 1.8 turbo

These guys all at least tried and prolly out having fun after successfully doing what they set to do. Blows up oh we’ll figure out why fix it. Car guys that’s how **** goes sometimes come back better but Now you’ll just say it won’t hold it forever nothing last forever and it wasn’t made to be turbo so it is hard but u wanna cry and whine bring everyone down or be part of the solution and try and be helpful. Also all r trying to go big I’m gonna use the 1.4 factory turbo and all as long as it will bolt to the flange or at least try the intake be the trick but the 1.6 intake manifold will also for sure bolt to thr 1.8 block look it up just check part number by gm if the gasket is the same it will 99.9% fit. Not just that but like I said you’ve not looked because u don’t have the want or the will. Or u just a 1.4 having ass troll who’s salty thst their 1.4 literally has the same power as a 1.8. I’ll just keep makin fun of up badging also since u r a RS 1.8 automatic no doubt

At least you posted some turbo 1.8l videos. . . . even Matt's that are clearly labeled "Damaged " . . . .the only "new" videos are the ones I already posted from Matt just talking about delays etc no reliable daily driver Cruze running turbo 1.8L

Yea and I posted them and the thumbnail says breaking down the 1.8 to access the damage not damaged if u actually watch it you’d see there was no damage but you just wanna go back and forth and I don’t care dude be negative I think you just shitty to not have the way or the know how to even try big guy so just keep hating cause they’re out there and I will have one also. And already have a 1.4 turbo RS just auto and blown head so I have a real RS and a lt 5 speed 1.8 so suck it haha. Also u just gave up and now attempt to bring others down for trying and some successfully doing it when u couldn’t so sorry I was always told can’t never could and that’s all I’ve seen from you is how it can’t happen and is impossible send me 2k and I’ll have it done within a week

Maybe I just don’t feel like reading your negativity and the reasoning for it being put on everyone else when only person who seems to not even be able to try at least is you. So by your logic there should be no car that comes only naturally aspirated that is able to maintain and be a daily with low boost on stock internals? Because I mean that is just stupid way to think since it’s been happening before u were even a twinkle in your daddy’s eye. It’s been being done longer than I’ve been around and there are some highly skilled builders. I would give anything to be able to just not have to work live the married life pay no bills and not have to keep diapers and all that for my newborn. Im a disabled vet and still work but I’d love to have just the time I and not have to be an adult and sink it into this and have the time to do it. I’d overnight everything if possible have it done and put together and take it to zzp, trifecta, bnr, or most likely my friend DK GOODRICH “and yea he’s legit! or the dealer I work for a just pay them and have it gone over and everything checked and if they couldn’t I know for a fact my friend Lewis in the next county over over can do whatever he has my motor swap done a and it required some adjustments in the computer because 8 digit diff and or something. days plus had his car and joes ready to roll most of their race cars and alot of of the tuning he does everything but also Dk does it all also both have sites and all that and feel free to ask if they could and ask them if it’s possible and if it is able to be a low boost daily not a 500_ 10sc Cruze But that’s not gonna happen I’m sorry matt love content support you all the way. But for the right price ucan make it Happen and be a daily. legit running daily and send you personal update.
