Does the manual say the Manual 6 speeds can be towed 4 wheels down?

I remember someone saying that the dealer said the manuals can be towed like that

In neutral that won't be a problem. Don't know what the manual says but from a mechanical standpoint it won't hurt anything.

Depends on the transmission design.
Some, like one I had said you could not because of lubrication. Somehow the input shaft was responsible for lubrication flow and having it not moving starved gears or bearings of oil.

I recall the same thing as $ub$onic but wouldn't do it to mine without confirming from the owners manual or someone at GM.

Just looked it up. The only car you cant dinghy tow is an RS automatic.

It shouldn't be any different than the other trim automatics as far as a towing no-no.

In general, towing an automatic, even in neutral is not good for anything than a short trip to maybe a place for service. Heat is generated as the internals spin, and since the trans-oil cooling system is not operating, things overheat quick.

I have rarely owned or driven an automatic, but I did drive a tow truck for a couple years, and I grew up in a transmission shop, and this rule was always gospel in both environments.
