Sonic getting hot inside?

Hey guys so weird question but how does your sonic handle the heat after being on a parking lot all day? I leave my car in the sun for about 8 hours while at work and it's about 25-28 celsius last couple days and as I enter the vehicle it's unbearable hot. Other cars I have drove and friends getting into its hot but not this hot and dry feeling. Anyone experience this or am I just crazy? Thanks.

2) Do you use a windshield sun screen? Huge difference
3) Do you use your auto start function. i live in Phoenix Arizona, US where it is freaking hot. As far I'm concerned that little Sonic AC is a rock star. If I hit the auto start from a couple of hundred feet away it's already cooling by the time I open the door.

But to answer YOUR question, YES my car is stifling hot without the above steps.

Yes I have a sun roof, but I keep the cover closed I don't know if that makes a difference. And no I dont use a sun screen, maybe I should and I'll have to try the auto start method with AC on max. Thanks!

had a black on black and 2.5% tint.. 35% front doors(legal) 12' ltz... you dont know hot till well you owned black leather haha on a black car.. best thing i did was mostly close the sunroof cover and crack the sunroof helped alot, have noticed parents 15 silver sonic isn;t near as bad.. but its stock grey inside with no tint...

my new van tho is almost as bad as the sonic was, with the exception i dont burn my arse on the seats.. LOL

I had a black on black Taurus once with a sunroof. Damn near got first degree burns on a number of occasions due to the leather seats. As much as I like the look of a clean black car I vowed never to own one again after that. Not sure what colour your Sonic is but if it is dark in colour it will absorb more heat.
Our Sonic is indoors most of the time but the few times I have had it outside I did not think it was particularly hot inside.

I should add that there was a noticeable difference after we had the windows tinted.

Tinted windows amaze me how with how much UV (and therefore heat) they reflect. Also the cheap $10-15 sunshades are great, have one for each car because even in Seattle, it gets warm enough in the summer.

i got a sunshade on ebay made for the Sonic and it fits nice and makes a HUGE difference in the heat levels inside the car.

I leave a window or two cracked, if i'm not expecting rain. Does wonders.

My 2012 Cruze was black with a sunroof and it got very warm. I had the sunroof cover closed when not using it. My Sonic is white and has no sunroof and the one time it was out in the sun on a hot day for a good while it was no where near as warm as the Cruze was. Thankfully I work at a office building and park in a parking garage that my employer pays for. I drive from a carport to a garage and back 90% of the time. In a few months I will be out of the apartment and finally able to get into the new house so we can sell the place back in Virginia so it will be a garage to garage 100% of the time which is great because I worry about hail more then heat in Texas.
