Sonic makeover need help!

My sonic was backed into a few weeks ago :sadbanana: and i have gotten an estimate from a trusted body shop and am planning on bringing it in mid April. The hood, front bumper, fender and headlight has to be replaced. They will also be fading the paint of the fender into the door.

I am looking to replace the LT bumper with an RS one, I looked through the forum and online but only found the full write up on the back bumper swap. So really any info at this point would help.. :banana:

I'm also interested in this a well cause a while back some idiot in a pick up truck backed into mine with their trailer hitch and put a hole in my front bumper. There's a tab that's connected to the bumper still and is somewhat bent in so if I wanted I could cut it out and do a fiberglass repair and repair it that way, but I'd rather take an rs bumper and do a mustash delete.

Same happened to me hah, trailer hitch hit my hood like a tank.. Got an insurance check and body shop says the regular bumper will be $310 while the RS bumper is $530 but with insurance covering the 310 I can give them the extra money to order the RS bumper... but I know there must be more to the swap than that.. Assembly? Fog lamp harnesses? I'm lost on that part.

Do you have fogs now?

Yes. The harness is in place. More than likely you will need the RS fog lights too. I doubt the lights come with the bumper.

No. You will need to purchase the fog light kit and the RS fog lights for the new bumper. You may be able to sell the non RS fog lights on here to someone looking to do a mod or that damaged theirs.

I don't have fogs now, insurance is covering everything on my car to be replaced I will just pay the extra to upgrade to the rs I'm wondering if I should be doing the research and ordering the parts on my own or go through my body shop and have them order it.

It is my friends family shop they had fixed a totaled 2012 sonic just when I had bought mine they're guys have done awesome work.

There is a fog light kit available from chevy. It includes a new head light switch, wiring harness and fog lights. After all of that is installed you will need to have the BCM reprogrammed for the new headlight switch to work. As far as I know they don't offer a fog light kit for the RS since fogs are standard on the RS. Also the fogs n the kit won't fit the RS bumper.

You can go to gmpartsdirect and compare part #s, ask the dealerships parts dept, or ask the body shop to research everything for you.
