-- Kenwood radio unit -- GPS --- the whole 9 yards --- but --
I lost the outside temps ----
Any suggestions to get it back ?
I'll hold my breath -- LOL
Yeah doubt your getting that back. You could do like an ultra gauge. I think they have an Ambient Air Temp reading. That temp display on factory radio was specifically for the mylink set up (Windows CE). The sensor is still their and your engine is reading it actively but theirs no way to get that to display on a kenwood etc. Only way I can think of is an Ultra Gauge and then pull up Ambient Air Temp setting (AAT).
These cars also have a setting to turn heated seats on with remote start when cold. Newer models. As soon as you loose that mylink radio that setting is gone for good. The ECM controls a lot of that stuff but the factory mylink radio is more like the remote. That kenwood isn’t gonna know what to read let alone be programmed to do so.
You’d have to go with a separate OBD2 Gauge like ultra gauge to see that stuff.
In my 2019 CarPlay is enough for me. I might do an amp and speakers but I’ll stay stock. If your car didn’t have CarPlay I could definitely see it being worth upgrading to a Kenwood with GPS etc.
