Stand alone gauges

So last night I tried a ultra gauge because I have been thinking of getting one so I can monitor boost coolant temp and a couple other things, but when I hooked up the gauge and looked at the boost it said -8.?? At idle then when I stepped on the throttle it would go down. Light acceleration took me to -12.??. Anybody have a idea what's wrong? I would like to get a gauge but I'm not going to if it doesn't do what I need it to.

boost should be positive right?....I see mine go negative but its seems always positive on acceleration. Maybe your reading is lagging and you need to adjust the update interval on the ultra-gauge ?

it goes negative at idle...boost itself is positive, but at idle the vac line I pulled off is negative..

I have a UG and love it but it returns values that are accurate for the ecu but not actual.

One can easily have negative vacuum when accelerating if doing such somewhat slowly. I can not think of a single instance of going into positive (ie: boost) numbers sitting still at idle.

Yeah boost at idle is negative because it is vaccum. What was happening was under acceleration it went further into the negative
