Stuttering?

Ok so I have a very odd issue with my sonic. Recently, every time I pull out of the driveway it seems my engine is "stuttering". It is hard to describe but it almost feels as if the engine is skipping. I am not sure what is going on? Did I get bad gas? There is no noises that I can tell but this is very odd.

Could be bad gas. Have you checked your spark plug gaps?

Also what engine? Auto or manual? Stock or tuned? Is this on a cold engine or everytime you back up?

Mine stutters on a cold start until the RPMs drop but I'm tuned and have the cold start issue.

I am using automatic and no I pretty much just start it and once the mylink starts I put it in reverse.

Don't know how to check spark plug gaps lol. Also I am running complete stock and it is Auto. It has done it in 90 degree weather so not "cold". But it has always done it after sitting awhile.

Thought I would update this thread. As far as I have noticed, my car no longer does this. Yay!!

my sonic is curently doing this. but only some times and only when i give it gas
ive had it put on a code reader had the trans tested and no code will pop for either one. i changed the spark plugs but was having trouble getting the boots so i havent done that yet.
does anyone have an idea what it could be???
also my new spark plugs are gaped correct.

I read it could be the evap purge valve. Our car threw a p0496 with the remote start deactivated and loss of fuel efficiency. The mechanic stated it could be our solenoid. We replaced it, and it seems to have helped performance and no mil light! However, after topping off the tank we were still experiencing stuttering upon start up. I have a gas cap on the way, but next is replacing the evap purge valve.

What plugs did you use? I've run into an issue in the past with these coils that don't like GOOD plugs. Try putting OE plugs in.

If you mean filling the tank, it is probably the evap purge valve

However, after topping off the tank we were still experiencing stuttering upon start up.

Don't top off your tank after filling it.

I LOVE Rockauto! [emoji106][emoji173] I purchased my vvt selonoid replacement here, and just bought a gas cap. I will definitely purchase my evap valve canister from them if needed. My only thing is it looks like it doesn't come with the connector? I could be wrong...

Don't know what year your car is. Amazon and CheapestGMparts.com both show this part for about $20, which includes the check valve on the tube, but both say it does not fit a 2012 Sonic.
