Tires at Costco: purchase and store installation

Has anyone here had any experience with buying and installing their tires at Costco? They have a deal right now for $70 off any set of Bridgestone tires, so I'm thinking of getting the Blizzak WS70 for the winter (I've seen people refer to the Blizzaks here so figured it's a reliable choice). The installation is only $15 and they assured me they are familiar with TPS technology. What do you think?

Costco tires are a good value. The Blizzak's are always a good winter performer. Plus you can stop in at any Costco for tire repair etc....

I know an employee at my local shop and if they have any issues with customer service they replace problem employees quickly. I would rate them at or above Les Schwabb, BigOtires etc....
(disclaimer, this goes for my local costco tire center only)

I purchased a set of Bridgestone Ecopias for our other car from Costco (also got the $70 discount.) I ordered them online and had them shipped to the store. Had them installed a couple days later, installed while shopping. Pretty hassle free. I do like that they torque the lugs down by hand. No TPMS on that car, so I can't speak for that.

I generally liked to shop for tires at locally owned places, but for the same tires it was going to be $200 more at my usual shop. :eek: When the Sonic is due for tires, I will likely return to Costco.

Oh great, you definitely reassured me! I thought it was a good deal money wise, the tires are $99.99 per tire (they're $168 each on the Bridgestone website). Throw in the $70 off and I think it's as good as I can get. Very reassuring about the installation, too - I figure they deal with so many cars, the TPS sensors shouldn't be a problem, since they're standard on many new cars.

Great to know that you like the Blizzaks, too! I was so overwhelmed by all the tire choices out there, so I just went with the suggestion for the Sonic from the Costco site.

I feel Costco is a great company for tire service. I have never had an issue with them doing service on my SUV. I would recommend them.

That is correct, the $70 discount is on the set. $99.99 each the OP mentioned is the regular price. A set of four runs $329.96 after the $70 rebate is applied, plus installation/taxes/etc of course.

Some people may not find the Sonic's chunky 15's very attractive, but holy crap they're ridiculously cheap to replace. :cool:

For anybody without a costco membership, it's about $350 shipped for me from Tirerack. Not that great of a deal IMO, but less than the alternative.

Not 100% sure that it includes tires, but non-members can order off the Costco site with a 10% increase to the price.

I work for Costco as a Meat Cutter... The pricing is very competitive and you will also get the best warranty and member service if something should happen to the tires. Also they will be filled with Nitrogen. You can never go wrong purchasing anything there :)
