Traction warning during normal driving w/manual?

So I've noticed that in the past my traction warning light has come on a couple times when it shouldn't have (the one with the car and squiggly lines below it). It comes on after a while of driving and then stays on till I turn the car off. Lately, it has been doing this every time I drive it after about 5 minutes. It's a manual, so is it freaking out because the clutch is slipping? Is this an issue I need checked? There's also a yellow engine warning that could be related but it hasn't come on in the past. Thanks!

Turns on and stays on is not normal.

Engine warning light also should not be ignored, there are many "that's nothing" things that make it go on, but there are just as many "do something now or lose the engine" things that trigger it.

Go to one of the auto parts chains; Autozone, Advance Auto for sure, and probably the rest, will hook up a reader to your OBDII port and tell you what the code is along with some free advice.

I'd also get your own OBDII reader, Ultragauge is simple and reliable, but there are others, at any rate the ability to read and clear these codes yourself is certainly worth the money (under $50) not to mention the other readouts you will get. But it will take a while for that to arrive in the mail, and you should get a look at the current code right away.

My guess based on the little information we have so far is that it's something to do with your steering or brakes. But who knows!

My 2012 LTZ turbo 6sp manual did this for a while. The Stabilitrak indicator would come on at random times, and wouldn't extinguish until I turned of the vehicle and restarted it. The diagnosis was a faulty brake pedal position sensor. I was skeptical of that being the problem, but replacing it did resolve the problem, and I've had no further issues with that problem.

Check the wires for the rear abs sensors. My car shipped with the right rear popped out of the holder, and the wire rubbed on the wheel until it wore through. Chevy swapped it under warranty.
