Valve cover bolt size

Add me to the list of people that snapped off one of the bolts during valve cover gasket replacement.

I want to make sure I have a sound plan to fix the problem. I'm going to get a helicoil kit with the m6-1.0 thread (is this correct?) I have not been able to find the exact GM Bolt so I was just going to use an M6-1.0 x 30 mm from Home Depot or somewhere. Is that the correct length? Having trouble finding that spec also.

I can confirm that this is a M6-1.0 x 45mm (possibly slightly longer, but works). I was able to get the broken piece out without drilling or helicoiling.
