Volume won't exceed 12!

I just bought a 2012 LT hatchback last night and my volume won't go beyond 12 on the radio. I have gone through all of the settings and pulled the audio fuse but no luck yet. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

I'm thinking you didn't actually read my post considering half the questions you asked were already answered. If you don't have any idea what could be wrong then why reply?

Just looked at the GM owners manual for a 2012 Sonic and didn't see anything regarding volume limits in the settings. Only going to 12 doesn't tell me much though. That might be the entire range allowed.

At that volume can it even be heard or is it just not loud enough for you?

-edit- Found from a very quick and effective search. See below link. Seems two options to fix are to either replace the radio or pull a fuse and try again.

The max is 40 or more. I think the radio is defective. It's not loud at all.

Figured it out! Had to disconnect the car's battery for a few minutes and it reset everything. It works fine now!

I suggest going into your setting and doing a factory reset. If that doesn't work then completely unhook the car's battery for a minute or two, hook it back up, and then you should be good to go. If that still doesn't fix it then you probably have a short in your system somewhere. I read about it on another forum and the guy had to get his whole radio replaced.

I have a 2012 Sonic LTZ and had the same problem. The problem started after the vehicle went to a GM Dealership for a water leak problem. I just tried STEPHSSONIC's battery disconnect solution and it fixed the problem. I still have the problem with the turn signal audio (no click). That problem appears to be in the radio itself.
