My frustration with my local dealership has hit a all time high.
Yesterday(2/9/14) I noticed a odd noise coming from the passenger side wheel well, I put the car in park had the kiddo turn the wheel all the way to the right and left and heard, but couldn't see or feel where the noise was coming from.
I hit the magic 'blue button' and ask what to do, they advised me to call in the dealer ship in the morning of 2/10/2014, so I called two Lithia Chevrolet of South Anchorage, and Alaska Sales and Service.
I asked if it was safe to drive, they both stated 'No because it has to do with steering', I asked if they had time to look at it today, they both said yes.
I hit the blue button, at 8ish AM, and asked for road side assistance, I was given a ETA of 3-4 hours for a tow, the tow truck showed up at 10AM, I told the tow truck driver to send it to Alaska Sales & Service, I waited until about 12PM and I called Alaska Sales and Service, and asked if my vehicle was towed in yet, they stated yes, I then asked if they had time to look at the vehicle, I was told that they didn't have time and it would be tomorrow , I then said "When I spoke to Ken, he said it would be looked at this afternoon", I was frustrated I called lithia asked if I could just bring it to them and have them look at it, they said not until tomorrow 2/11/2014, I said that's fine its the principle of the matter that the dealer ship lied, I don't like Alaska Sales and Service, I then called Alaska Sales and service said I would be picking it up, and bringing it to Lithia, they(Alaska Sales & Service) said we will look at it now, shorty after about 1 hour, they called me back and stated that an inner fender well clip broke causing the fender well to rub on the strut, I said is this covered by warranty, Travis Stewart stated it was not, I was confused how a plastic clip could break and be my fault, he stated it could be 'ice' or 'snow' but it hasn't snowed in the Anchorage area for awhile, we had a heat wave.
I then said ok, how much? They said 1 hour of labor and parts, the total $109.xx to fix, i said ok. I then called Lithia and told them about the issue the person on the phone asked why isn't it a warranty issue, and bring it in here, it is a warranty issue as long as you haven't had any impact damage.
I than called Alaska Sales and Service, but it had been too late, they started the repairs, I explained to Travis my frustration that Lithia said it sounded like a warranty issue, and not my doing. He then stated I can talk to my service manager and see if we can lower the price, I then called them about 2 hours later, to ask if it was done and the cost, and to speak to the Service Manager, They put me on the line with Jim, I asked why is it lithia says its a warranty issue, and you state its not a warranty issue, and I have to foot the bill? He said its not, maybe ice built up, or snow. I told him my vehicle is garaged, and there has been no snow, or impact damage to the vehicle, he then said its not a warranty issue. It was going towards a battle, and I just said well how much do I owe, he stated $109.xx I then stated I was told by Travis he was going to try to speak with you about lowering the cost, he said no, Then I said I will just be filling a complaint with GM Customer care.
I spoke with GM Customer care(case#71-1272554189) , they told me they need to speak with there Customer Experience manager, guess who it is? Jim.
After explaining everything you've just read above, she said she would need to call Alaska Sales and speak with Jim, I said he already told me its not a warranty issue, how will this fix anything? She said they would contact me within 24 business hours.
And she couldn't promise anything for me.
I'm very confused how a PLASTIC clip can break or fall off from weather or my doing??
For those of you who read this, any input?
