watching videos in a 2013 sonic

This may be a silly question. Can someone explain to me how/if it is possible for me to watch movies/videos on the lcd screen in my sonic?

I don't see why not I mean when it plugged up via USB the music note picture shows on my iPhone atleast so I think it can be possible wouldn't surprise me but it would probably have to be through a USB connection

Yeah you have to have videos on a flash drive and have it in park.

Find a locally owned car stereo shop (not a huge one like best buy but a mom and pop shop) they should be able to disable the need to be in park after you sign a waiver or a dozen.

Usually in the newer cars its ran through the can system. Aftermarket doubledins can typically be bypassed by grounding the parking brake wire. Ive seen some harnesses online for other new cars that wire inline with the factory harness and the factory radio that let you bypass it. I havnt heard anything with the factory mylink systems.

I have an older Pioneer AVIC system in my Explorer and you could bypass the video playback lockout by not connecting the parking brake sense wire, until they came out with a firmware update on one of the newer map update DVD's which started using the GPS signal instead. After that there was no bypassing it.

Ypu can still bypass the pioneers. The year or so ago models you have to switch some pins. I believe something with the mute wire. The newer ones are different because they use the gps signal to monitor your speed. The only one ive done, we had to upload a new software to trick the system. The dvd bypass works as long as you dont go over 120mph instead of 10mph.

Its not that its bad its illegal in most states..lol

Can't help for the factory MyLink...my Pioneer AVH-P3300BT was pretty easy to bypass using a relay. Found a YouTube how-to for it.

I might try this audio shop close by called Spade Kreations, they always have crazy looking cars outside the shop.

I put the GM2 on my 2012 Burb. Works great, I don't see anything for MyLink yet.
