what size turbo

anyone know what turbo they are using on the sonic, i know it's now part of the exhaust manifold. the cobalts ss use's k04 turbos. so maybe a k03? i just can't find any info on it.

i know theres a couple companys that have gotten some good numbers out of the cruze. almost 200lbs of torque and almost 180hp. so it is possible with this engine and turbo combo to put out some pretty decent numbers.

I hope GM comes out with a stage kit that can be installed by a dealer without voiding the warranty, much like they did with the LNF engine (Cobalt SS, Solstice GXP, etc). I'm pretty sure this engine is capable of some significantly higher numbers since it's currently tuned for fuel economy more than anything else. However I'm absolutely NOT interested in buying a brand new car and voiding the warranty messing around with it.

well thanks to sema, just because you add aftermarket parts to a car it doesn't void the warranty. they have to prove that the part you added caused whatever problem without any doubt. trust me i've dealt with it before with my cobalt ss and never had a problem, my cobalt was the full stage 3 with a 75 shot of nos on it. dealer never had a problem with it.

I really really wish I could agree. I'm aware of the sema law you're talking about, and there are too many ways around it. If I mod the engine of my car and it blows up, I have a very poor chance of getting it fixed under warranty. That is an unfortunate fact. Could I take GM to court over it? Sure. Would I win? Hell no.
