I’ve been reading what I feel like a lot today about swapping in a 2.0t but the threads seemed a little older and I didn’t really get the info I was hoping for. Has anyone ACTUALLY considered doing this? Because i am but I’d like to get a little more info. The ATS motor is what I was looking at, from photos it looks like there is some possibility.. I’m very curious and I’m looking for a new project! Haha

Well upon further homework haha I realize now that ats motor is the awd setup and also in the ats front to back.. not sure how this would work being installed left to right like our motors but I’m still doing home work. I got sucked into a rabbit hole of high HP cars the other night (what else is new) and I just want to do something awesome with the sonic man. I don’t know I’m just throwing ideas around in my head really for now but as far as size/shape go that ats motor does in fact look very similar to our 1.4’s

Have to say the engine compartment seems pretty snug for the 1.4. A turbo two leaves me wondering how you'd do any repair without pulling the whole lot out. Not like a Cruze at all in this regard. Have you considered going with broadly upgrading the 1.4 system instead (e.g. higher capacity and heavier duty aftermarket parts like the turbo, intake manifold, intercooler, coils and cat-back instead)
