Yellow fogs with 6000K HIDs?

what do you guys think about yellow fogs lights?

and what Fog light bulb should I use?

HID kit will be coming from ZZP with the harness relay

I hope you're retrofitting HID projectors as well, but I doubt it.

This is one mod that I feel strongly about because it affects me. Been tired of getting blinded by the stupid light scatter of HIDs in halogen housings of the cars coming opposite way at night. It's a fact that they are illegal w/o proper housing and less effective due to the scatter.

nope not going to, didn't do it on my focus either and it put out much better light during rain then the halogens.

I might retrofit with another set of lenses but i won't do it to my stock ones incase I screw up.

Also yes they might be less effective in a retrofit vs non retrofit.

BUT in a halogen vs. nonretrofit HID the nonretrofit HID still wins.. I see MUCH better with HIDS than halogen.


I made this thread to ask opinions about the fog lights not my HIDs.

fyi not wanting to sound like a dick or anything but i do understand where you are coming from. Some people can't adjust the cut off point on the HIDs without retrofit and it does look bright to oncoming traffic.

Oh the hid arguements again...lol..

I have yellow fogs. Well I put yellow tint over the stock housing with stock bulbs. Then I have 8000ks in the low beam. Works great for me. I may eventually go to 3000k hids in the fogs. But not really a priority.

The fogs have an adjustment screw above the housing. You can point the beam more down so its less in the face of other drivers..

Brighter isn't always better. There's no denying that the cutoff and beam pattern goes out the window with HIDs in halogen housings as well as creating 'hot spots' in the pattern. It's a a fact that applies to all cars with HIDs in halogen housings. Not one car is exempt. Sure, some are worse than others but all are useless.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here. I'm just tired of being blinded on the roads by those who either do it for the look factor w/o regard to other drivers or those who are misinformed about the performance of the mod in this scenario.

Stop staring at oncoming traffic. You're supposed to look at the divider/lane marker and see the lights in your peripheral.

There is no way to avoid it on a single lane backroad, unless you look away from the road entirely.

well anyway the light output from MY driving point of view, not the oncoming traffic point of view makes a HUGE difference in lighting.

I can see the road ALOT better with HIDs even if they aren't retroffited.

case in point I'm getting HIDs and I am going to put them in my halogen housing. The cops don't care here plus i know every single one of them, (I ride with nightshift sometimes).


Now could someone please help me figure out if i should use yellow fog lights? I think it might actually look good lol

You are going to get people bashing the idea but ultimitly its your car do want you want.

I think yellow fogs look very nice! I'm not going to debate the HID topic but I don't feel ahtoxa was bashing his idea. While yes you do get much more light output, unfortunately its uncontrolled and negatively affects other drivers. The OP knows the side effects of installing them improperly and the world will continue to revolve. Good luck with the install!

lol thanks guys I appreciate the feed back.. I was kind of wanting the yellow bulb but no the yellow lamin-x because i was going to use a smoke tint lamix on my fron headlights with the fogs
