Yes.
To get the railcar# the dealer can call the the GM Dealer Business Center or
log into GM GlobalConnect -
go to Order Workbench
go to Manage Inventory
go to Vehicle Order Inquiry
Enter Order #
When the info comes up they can click
on the blue order # and scroll down to
the event history. It will list the railcar#
Although I've never actually called CSX's number myself, but from what I understand, you would call CSX at 1-800-235-2352. Press "1" when it asks you if you want location or weight. From there it should ask you for the car initials (you'll say ETTX), and then it will ask for the car number (902520). If it asks you for the next car, just say "done." After this, you should receive your tracking information. It is also important to note that you should only use the automated system; we are unable to get tracking information from their live agents.
IMPORTANT: Hang up if you get a LIVE agent. We are flying under the radar when we do this and do not need to unintentionally upset anybody by interfering with their doing their job.
There are other numbers so if this does no work come back and I will track those down.

I will put here that there will be no US production in UAW represented plants as their contract gives them today to vote, and this includes Orion Assembly where the Sonic is built.

I called the number and did all that stuff you said, it says the car is empty but scheduled to leave November 5th?

Not a surprise. The language used is different. Empty could mean what you and I would say but could also mean one slot left to fill, and anything in between. But they are pretty good about specific dates and dispatch and shipping are seven day a week operations. My guess is your rail autocar has left Lake Orion and is in Ottawa (Toledo) waiting to hook up to head in your direction.
There are other terms of art, so do not be surprised if you hear them and have trouble figuring what they mean. There is a glossary somewhere and when I come across it I will post.

Claimed our new Sonic today! Should pick it up Friday or Saturday, can't wait... We recently lost out 2012 w/ 39k and have been wanting to replace it right away. Other than pulling a Michael Jackson and switching from black to white, we added a sunroof and Mylink package! The new (and old) Sonic is in my sig...

We took delivery of the new Sonic on Friday! I just wanted to post a big THANK YOU to our salesman. This is our third new Chevy purchased from Andy at Lawrence Chevrolet. I pre-ordered my Sonic LT in 2012. I chose the 6 speed turbo sedan. The added security of a trunk made me choose the sedan. I've only had one thing go wrong, and that's the rubber grommet around the front passenger door lock popped off and won't stay on. Not bad for over 36,000 miles of daily use. I put a trailer hitch on it and have hauled loads over 1,000 lbs at 80mph, with little trouble. I got 20 mpg on that trip, LOL. I average 38 mpg though, and use an app to track it.
The air conditioner will freeze you out of the car, and in Florida, that's not a bad thing.

2014 Dusk edition ordered
I ordered a new dusk edition six speed fully loaded with the sunroof and advanced safety package. The car was ordered May 6 and accepted by chevrolet May 7. The order number is RTJNNM and is slated for the June second production week. Can't wait for my new sonic, already going to pick up a red cable and an intake this weekend. The tint appointment is scheduled and i'm ordering the exhaust and blow off valve in the next couple weeks!!!
