my Bike Hauler

Thought I'd throw up some pics of my new bike hauler. I know the owners manual says trailer towing not recommended, but it tows this rig with ease. I was actually surprised how easily it towed. 1.4L manual.

The trailer is a Triton XTV (~200lb aluminum trailer) and I built the bike rack from 5/4" deck material fastened to the trailer deck with T-nuts.

I towed my GSXR1000 for 450 miles on a trailer. Drove at a steady 65 mph with no issues.

Effin sweet! I dont think hauling a 300 lb trailer is gonna hurt anything

Sweet! I dont think I cound get away with towing mine though. Bike itself weighs roughly 650, plus the trailer....I think I'd be pushing it. Thats ok, if my bike needs to get there I'll give her a nice long ride! Pun intended!

the trailer weighs about 300lbs my bike weighs about 450lbs i put 80lbs of tongue wieght.... pulled smooth and extreamly easy.... another 200lbs no biggy... it is the 10% tongue weight that i would worry about at like 1200lb trailer....

The cars are rated to pull small trailers in all other markets, but here in the States we've got too many lawyers and crossovers to sell.

Yeah, this is a very common practice in Europe. Here in US we buy a diesel F350 to tow 500 lbs.

And we put aftermarket parts in the truck because we feel it doesn't have enough power for 500 lbs. ;P

If you jack it up you get extra power for each inch it's lifted. Just like stickers and our cars...sticker power!
