Anyone hear liquid shifting or flapping when braking??

Lets not get crazy here and think everyone with a liquid shifting sound has a warped cylinder head!
Check your radiator and overflow to see if its the coolant is topped off, it might just be an air bubble, it can be hard get those to bleed out all the way, haven't really looked but wherever the highest part of the cooling system is, if there's a bleeder, crack it open slightly and watch the air pop out.
When your adding coolant allow the vehicle to come up to temp (Thermostat will open) and have your heat on full/full, then ac on full/full. Close it all up prior to that wonderfull boil over event and turn off the vehicle. Take it for a drive and don't be afraid to rev it up some to get that waterpump pumping.
Thats my usual cycle to make sure I get the air out of my vehicles.
However, its under warranty and the dealer will do all of the above for you
should you air issues.
Is this a 1.8L or 1.4 Turbo? I ask because I did notice my 1.8L seems to vibrate pretty good at idle (not enough to give feedback in the car/steering wheel) when I watch it with the hood popped. Does pull strong so I now its not down on power.

simply just air in the system probably, proper bleed down and see if it does with the heat on high/high.

they may be adjusting, or if you put the parking brake on when the brakes are hot it might lock them up for a moment.

I hear both these sounds as well. The flapping noise in my car seems to be coming from the left rear brake.
I thought the liquid noise was gas moving around in the tank but the cabin cooling seems to be a more likely culprit. I hope my dealer is able to fix both.
More after I get it into the shop.

I hear that liquid shifting noise too, it's probably something normal since alot of us are experiencing it. My car runs fine so I think it's supposed to do that every time, don't quote me on this though.

I've been wondering about this sound that I've been hearing too and I just stumbled across this thread. I would describe it as sounding like liquid rushing through a tube or a pipe as I rev the engine to accelerate away from a stop. I haven't kept careful track of it, but it seems like I usually hear it soon after I start driving. I'll try to see if I can tell if I ever hear it when the car is fully warmed up. I was thinking it was probably coolant in the heater core too, but I was also thinking that there would have to be air in the system in order for it to be making that sound and I can't figure out how come the air wouldn't get flushed out when the coolant rushes through like that. My coolant level is about 3/8" below the seam in the tank, so it's a little low, but not low enough that it should be causing any issues. I haven't really looked closely at the level in the tank before, so I don't know if it's lower now than it was when I got it - it's possible that there was a little air somewhere in the system when I got it too. I guess I'll just keep an eye on the level to see if it is going down.

Mine makes the "water rushing" sound and so does my buddy's 2013 Sonic he just bought last month. Everything is fine, I assure you.

Im pretty sure the water noise is either the heater valve opening and allowing flow through the heater core or the electric thermostat opening and allowing coolant flow in general.
I hear a motor run when i hit my brakes sometime, i figure the car probably has a vaccum pump to keep the power brakes functioning when not in vaccum. could be wrong on both, my old grand national had an electric pump for its power brakes that sounded about the same. hopefully this new system will be more reliable than that one

Brake Noise
I fixt my brake noise by taking the left rear drum apart. I inspected the inside of the drum for grooves or loose material then reassembled the drum. After this process the brake noise stopped.
The water rushing noise is still present and I'm sure it's not a normal noise. None of the other cars I've driven or been a passenger in have made this noise.

Creaking sound from brakes
I've been hearing exactly the same thing in my 2013 LTZ Turbo hatchback for at least a few months. There's a creaking sound when I apply the brakes. Seems like it's coming from the right front but I'm not sure. The brakes work fine, it's just annoying and I haven't found time yet to take it back to the dealer. I'm searching the forum to see if others are experiencing this.
