ive never seen my engine temp rise above 196, i saw yours was at 219. doing many first gear pulls?

5'6". Kinda short, more leg than torso though.

Normal operating temp for my car is 219-224* except in stop and go, then it drops to 203*. When I had the 1.8 tune my coolant temps would not go above 195* and I saw a decent drop in economy as well.

im 6'4 so that explains it. So the 1.8 runs a lil hotter then hmmm.

It runs warmer than I am used to, but seeing as how it appears to be within the opperating parameters that GM set, I am okay with it. The extra heat seems to help with economy.

I am on the taller end of the spectrum for one side of my family.

the 1.4 OEM temps are usually aronud 220 as well sltzell

Remember the 1.8 has a water to oil cooler with piston cooling jets. I wouldn't try to get it any colder. That may be the lowest temp it can cool the oil to
