Aftermarket Wheels: Post'em Up!!!

As far as I'm aware of, only Euro cars have wheel bolts.

The Corvette ZR1 has wheel bolts.

theenico...just the ZR1, correct? All others use studs? Do you know why they chose to do that?

I wish more manufacturers would go that route...I really dislike studs...especially on my Cobalt...I've only had to replace 8 or 10 now in 6 years of ownership...never had the problem on any of my Saturn S-Series cars...don't know what GM did, but they sure used poor quality studs on this car.

I believe it has something to do with the carbon ceramic brake rotors. If so, the Z06 should also have bolts if you opted for the ceramic brakes.

I didn't put OEM studs back in...any that have busted have been OEM, not aftermarket.

Only time i have ever busted a stock stud was when the nut was improperly installed, or the car was 10+ years old.

It's a common problem with Delta cars...Cobalt, Ion, G5. Not sure why this is still off topic, but last thing I'll post about it...the biggest problem was because of winters around here...open end lug nuts don't mix well...too much strength with rusted...doesn't end well...of course GM's poor choice of wheel covers that use a lug nut with open end and external threads to keep the hub cap on...yeah.

Looks good, but the black doesn't really show off the spoke pattern. Are they available in silver or gunmetal?

Also, why are people going with a 235/45/17 as opposed to a 225/45? I think they are a bit too meaty and kinda make some 17" wheels look like 16"s

All three. The grey isn't quite as dark as gun metal though.

All C6 corvettes use normal stud and lug nut style idk where you got that from.

Ive personally swapped wheels on a new Z06 Carbon that comes with zr1 brakes and wheels.

I was talking to the Service Engineer that releases the brake components for the Corvettes and he corrected me. I forgot to come back and fix my posts.
