ICARO from Spain - Sonic=Aveo

Hi guys, first place... excuse me all the time please, usually i can't practise my english in my country.

I'm from Spain, Murcia (near La Manga del Mar Menor, you know?) well, if somebody here travel to spain sometime maybe...

My name is José (Joseph) and i'm 42, my own car (family car really) is a Renault Grand Scenic 1.6 16V 115CV, a brand rare in EEUU but it's a good car.

My wife have a 1999 Daewoo Lanos 1.5SE Alpine but it's 13 years old

This daewoo lanos is very good car in his segment, has 86CV, AA (now is broken), front electric windows front; but it's the momento to change for a new car.

Looking the european market, we can buy several european, corean and american brands/models (Ford, Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Kia, Hiunday, Chevrolet...)

But the Sonic/Aveo is perfect to my wife (shopping, boys to school, etc.) in Spain the Sonic is named "Aveo" a horrible name

Next week, we will sign for a Chevy Aveo LT+ 1.4 100CV (white) because the LTZ version is not available in Spain until May/12 and can not wait :blankface:

I am a forum moderator Renault Scenic Spain (ForoScenic.com) and wanted to send a greeting to the user community and say that Chevrolet will be active soon (I hope) because here there is not even a serious forum even Aveo / Sonic.

Indeed, the Aveo name seems so horrible weeks I've been trying to get a logo "Sonic" to change the back door but it is impossible to find in Spain. If someone wanted me to do this great favor, I would have no problem to pay the emblem and postage to Spain ... please ... is a treat for my wife and I wanted to give the surprise when he delivered the car at the dealership.

I would be eternally grateful for this favor (I tried Ebay, Chevrolet EEUU... nothing)

Welcome to the forum! I wonder why they kept the "Aveo" name too especially being that they named it Sonic here.

i've remove the letters Chevrolet aveo looks to me cleaner!



i've allready 20 times celbrite my holliday in spain!

I am grateful for the offer, really the spirit of this forum that we have is the forum we also Renault Scenic: helping people who share a passion even when we do not know in person.

As the car is new, I put the new emblem and so, I will accept the generous offer of AndrewGS to order a new one at the dealership and send it to my home, for that I will send a private with my data and if I give the number of your bank account, you will gladly transfer the amount corresponding to the shipping tell me.

And I assure you that this detail is not easily forget it because in Spain is totally impossible to get the original emblem.

I will install xenon HID kit in my Renault Grand Scenic but after 2 years, police fined me because this is illegal in Spain -150€ sanction-, now I have Philips Xtreme Power 55W but nothing makes much light as the xenon

Personally I prefer the tailgate also clear from letters, to my Renault Grand Scenic also removed the letters, take the opportunity to put a picture and I will present, is 2005 and I have a little changed from its appearance of series:

eyyyy, Cataluña... I have many friends in that area, is a beautiful area. If you come by Levante (Valencia, Murcia) have paid a few beers, I'll be happy to meet you, mate.

Waiting for Aveo 1.4 LT+ Summit White

Hello everyone, we are expecting an Aveo (Aveo in Spain Sonic =) white 100hp 1.4 16V (hatchback), the finish "LT+" in Spain consists of:

Power windows 4 doors
ESP, EBD, assistant in tow
Bluetooth
Central locking with remote control
alarm
Anti-theft electronic immobilizer
Ipod MP3 + Aux input + USB
Gearbox 5-speed manual
Cruise control
AA*
No aluminium rims, no antifog

But ... no rear speakers in LT + version, only in LTZ (not available in Spain yet)

I hope at least the plugs on the rear doors speakers pre-installed ... I think it is 5 1/4 (13 cms.) so hopefully I can put them, I think it is unseemly that come as standard

I will buy one and I don't know if usb car can read 16GB

But the xenon problem we also have!

The new car's with fabrick xenon have a code on the headlights that the headlights are good for Xenon

every car the came out the factory without xenon dont have the code!
when the police is checking the car and you have xenon and no code than also you get a ticket!
