Quick tint question

Hello everyone, looking to take my Sonic in for tint. I live in Iowa, and laws state I can have any level of tint I want in the rear, but only 70% in the front (boooo). I'd just like some input on whether I should go 70% all the way around, or if I should go darker in the rear.

Also, the place the dealership sent me to charges 210 for the job with a lifetime warranty, does this sound reasonable? (anyone who can recommend a good place in Omaha, NE wins bonus points!)

I did 35 all the way around. Mines black so it looks darker and the cops leave me alone

I was told by my tint place here in town that the best application is on a hot summer day. That after the tint in in place let it sit out in the hot sun for a few days. Is it a bad idea to tint in the winter?

As far as price, I think they said it was $180 here in Topeka, KS, but I don't know if that included a lifetime warranty. I think others on here have paid less, however.

Dont do 70 all around. I say go at least 50 on the fronts. Thats still light, and probably light enough that they wouldnt mess with you. 50 up front and 35 rear would be ok too. It depends on your preference. You can search it and find any combination of tints to see what they look like.

I have the same 70% law here in Cali, but Im going 35 in front and 20 in rear.

70%. wow, that's like not even tinted. I would go 35% in all your windows but the front. Then again, I went 5% all around, so to each their own.

Mine came from the factory with 70%, you may want to make sure yours isn't already tinted.

But still, I would say you could probably do 70% on top of the 70% that it already has, bringing you to about 50%. It would look pretty good, and shouldn't get you into any trouble. I would do 50% top of the 70% in the rear though, bringing that to a nice 30%.

I personally am going to be doing 35% in the front (bringing it to about 25%) and 25% in the rear (bringing it to about 18%).

Golly. I paid $60 for 5% all around. You guys should drive to El Paso and get tinted. Probably save some money. ;P

I'm booked on Thursday for a 35% all-around tint with Solar Guard film and a lifetime warranty @ $200.

I was going to go with V-Kool but they don't have anyone here to do automotive installs and if they did it would've run me $525.

That's what I had done. I like the transparency, but there are a couple of details in the tint I'll have to take up with the shop.

I ended up getting the exact same. Had it done for about 2 weeks now, and find it's perfect.
