Carbon Fiber Hood Wrap??

It occurs to me that when the carbon fiber loses its vibrancy I could get it repainted to Victory Red. Actually I could do it now and almost ave a sleeper.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. What is a body to do?

So why bother dressing up a car at all? Stickers, stripes, graphics, chrome or painting the surfaces? Hell, the pattern in your seats ain't doing anything for you, why bother with that???

After market wheels, fancy antennas, mustache removal, lowering springs. It's all just crap, right?

Well, that's fine for the Sheeple, but some people want to individualize their cars. Hey, I'm not attacking anyone, simply expressing my opinion and thoughts on the subject. One thing I respect about anybody that customizes their car, is that they had the balls to do it and not drive a cookie cutter stock vehicle. They had a vision, and I respect that.

You're actually right in regards to my thoughts. I don't "do" stickers or anything that doesn't actually effect performance on anything including on my ATVs. Now rims, if you can find lighter rims that is fine but I don't care about their look so much. That is my personal preference and I understand others don't agree with it. I'm cool with that.

But back to why I think the wrap is so bad. In my view, and perhaps this is skewed, its an attempt to make a stock steel hood look like a lighter $500+ part which it is not. I see it just like mounting a fake tach on the steering column. Changing to rims that look different, or plasti-dipping parts because you like the look makes sense to me. Making something look like something its not? I don't get.

Actually I am pretty sure its NOT the vinyl that will
Damage the clear coat, it is the primer they recommend.

I would also expect if left on long enough the hood would fade a lot less than the rest of the car causing it not to match.

But seriously, I know you meant to express something but for the life of me I can not figure out the relationship of a fading carbon fiber hood, oem paint, and a carbon fiber wrap. I am sure it is there, I just can not get it.

It seemed some were concerned about the wrap damaging the paint on the hood. My concern would be the hood not fading like the rest of the car.

Its a moot point if the wrap is left on forever and no one cares about the paint on the hood.

I have a white hood for sale. I can leave it out in the sun though if someone with a white Sonic wants to wrap, but is concerned about mismatch sun fade.

Joke all you want but I had a truck that was 3 different colors because 3 different batches of paint faded slightly different over time. They all started out looking OEM.

Yes.. it was 19 years old but we have really picky people here like $ub$onic.
