Please don't take this the wrong way, it's an improvement, but I just flashed the budget tune on my '12 1.4t 6speed hatch with an injen intake and I was kind of expecting more.
From the countless reviews I've read for weeks before I pulled the trigger on this mod I was expecting the "world" I guess. I've read on more then one occasion "it turns it into a completely different car...." not my experience. Sorry. Maybe I was expecting too much? From the reviews it's hard not to.
Would a full tune really really make that big of an improvement? I dunno man, I just don't know.

If you have cruise control, is it turned off or on? If select-a-tune is active/tuned in and cruise is on it is in an economy mode.

Something's not right. You'll notice a big difference. Like rdss said, make sure your cruise control is totally off, the white light is not on your dash. You would not be the only one.

Trust me, I've launched with cruise on, off, tried no lift shift, everything. Thought about flashing it again, I dunno. I guess it's working. Just not really worthy of all the hype the reviews give it.

I will race any mini van on the streets....

The only time I've seen posts like this are when you truly aren't experiencing the tune. I have the budget tune, so I can speak to it. You should be able to hold your foot on it and when you hit 3k rpm, it's like a little rocket ship. Under 3k you'll mostly just notice it's a little more responsive and feels looser and more generous.

I'm just a girl, but a good majority of the people who say it makes it a different car are guys who know their sh!t, not guys who will fill you full of sh!t.

I guess tomorrow I will flash back to stock, then flash the power tune again. I'm running 93 octane, I have been for about a month now. So I don't know what's up. Again, maybe it's just me but this budget tune is nothing to write home about.
One thing though is the mileage seems a small tad better. I reset the mpg after I ruined it and I mean I've been putting my foot to the floor all day on the streets and on the highway. 46.1mpg ain't bad.

If you don't like the budget tune, you won't like the full tune. It's not a HUGE HP difference. The biggest thing with the full tune is the assurance of being dialed in, and the convenience of datalogging. I'm sure something's just not right. You should be able to notice the double in your boost.

It would help if you had an Ultragauge or something similar so you could see what you're boosting.

I guess tomorrow I will start over and try again. But the trifecta tune program on my laptop said "complete" and all that jazz so I'm guessing that it worked. Just not enough power for me I guess.

I will race any mini van on the streets....

Regardless of if its as fast as you hoped... can u tell a difference over stock? It will feel like VTEC kicking in yo. Lol. It really does change tone and pull much harder. Not that the car is untouchable all the sudden.. its just much faster than before.
So my question to u is, does it feel same as before or is it just not as fast ad you hoped but you can feel a big difference?

Have you smoked a Ford today?

Hmmm, you could try the "force flash" option and see if that helps. I thought I read someone having a similar complaint about the tune as you, they force flashed it and said that the tune was then a huge difference.

I felt the same way when I did my budget tune. I was kind of disappointed. But I was running 89 octane, and after about a half a tank I felt a noticeable increase is power. I guess the tune adjusted to the octane I was running (I see you've been running your tune for about a month so maybe all this won't apply to you).

Also, maybe you were expecting too much? I was expecting it to feel like my camaro...it doesn't feel like my camaro...and it probably never will LOL

And I'm ok with that. The tune is now definitely noticeable and the car is just a lot more fun to drive. Im happy with the tune...but like with anything I drive, I'd like it to be faster.

Dan182 had the same issue. he brought it up on post # 1656 and it was remedied in post #1689.

He ran the force flash option. Apparently his 1st tune only took 10 minutes to load vs the typical 20-30 mins.

Holy crap guys, when I flashed mine it only took about 10-15 minutes. No where near 30 minutes. When I get home from work I'll do the appropriate reading and go from there. Hopefully that's the issue and I can remedy the situation.


SERIOUSLY THANK EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME WITH THIS MATTER. THIS IS A GREAT COMMUNITY. :D

also the "slow loader" option for the tune was the only way my tune would take. it was such a big difference it sits me back in my seat with the tune compared to not on the tune lol.. so yeah something is not right at all

Eeep! This makes me nervous. I got my file on Friday, but still haven't had a chance to flash. Let us know what happens...
