Too bright??

Anybody encounter morons flashing you when driving at night bc apparently they think you have your hi-beams on, when in fact it's just lo-beams and fog lights?? I like to be able to see at night so I keep mine on.
I was just wondering
Honestly I get it a lot without the fogs on! I never remember to turn the fogs on at night :/ I just flash back, lol.

I use my lows and Fogs together all the time and have not had a problem yet with anyone complaining about them being too bright... I do plan on upgrading mine soon so i might then as i drive alot at night and have a hard time seeing at night so i need bright lights to help out with seeing the road and other obsticles.

None here, also. I do not use the fog lamps on the freeway unless driving in fog or rain because I tend to not look far ahead when I do. In fog for sure and sometimes in rain I drive slower and am less concerned about far ahead and most concerned about just ahead.
I definitely like how good the Sonic head lights work.

Morons flashing you for blinding them? You're the moron driving with your fog lights on when you're on the freeway. Save it for bad weather and areas where you need to see more to the side.
The stock fogs on these cars don't seem like they would be that bright from far away, but I know the fog lights on Chevy trucks are some of the most annoying on the road, right up there with Toyota low beams. I don't recall seeing another one on the road to know for sure. I never get flashed with just the low beams on, and I even raised them a little bit from the factory setting.

Again, I'm flashed quite often without the fogs. On the regular deer-infested highway.

I've been wondering about this. I wish I knew how "in your face" my fogs were when I'm driving.
However, I'd like to point out that your argument uses Chevy trucks as its example. I'd imagine we sit a bit lower than a truck. I'd imagine our fogs sit lower because the sonic sits lower.
Our car couldn't possibly be as bad as some of the lifted trucks around here. Their low beams shine right in my car sometimes.

This. There's a reason they are called 'fog lights' and not highway lights. They don't do anything for night driving visibility or any high speed visibility. Granted, they should not be blinding people, however they do nothing for your visibility beyond just a few feet in normal weather. In fact, most U.S. market 'fog' lights don't do much anyway. Most USDM cars equipped with foglights are 'upmarket' trims where people expect to get fog lights to distinguish their vehicles from the lower trims - so it's mostly a status symbol, if you will.
Actual fog lights are yellow in color (front-facing) because yellow light scatters less in fog. In addition, true fog lights should be enabled without having to enable low beams in order to reduce refraction and light scatter. That's the only way they are going to be effective.

Wow! such a variety of responses... here is my rebuttal:
A) we live out in the sticks....LOTS of deer, coons, etc at night that just don't seem to get it that the moving thing coming at them down the road will hurt or kill them.
B) in fact, the "fog" lights actually DO light up the road for ME...sure, they don't light it up a mile and a half down the road, but they light up the LOWER part of the road and the side of the road right in front of me which is really helpful

C) I used to drive a Ford Edge with the "fog" lights on all the time (again,
see A) NEVER got flashed.
My car is stock, no added lights in the grill, no HIDs...nada
I probably should have used a different term other than "morons" as some apparently have been offended by it. I was simply trying to see if other Sonic Owners were having the same thing happen as this IS an Owners Forum where we come with questions, concerns and to share our love for our Sonics.
