Since I've complained about my car's mileage, I thought I should start a more positive thread. I absolutely love using the remote start in the summer heat. The car is nice and cool when I get in, plus it feels high-tech to start the car across the lot. Fun!
If you're starting your car a lot to cool it off that will negatively affect your mpg's. I loved the feature in my truck, it's great in the summer and winter.
Yes, and I wish it was that simple. But the mileage woes have been consistent, long before summer and remote start activity. Still, I love the bells and whistles on my LTZ.
Hey garmcd if you send me your VIN I can try to find the answer to this question for you. You can send it by private message or by email (socialmedia@gm.com attn Jackie).
Do newer Sonics have digital heater controls?
I thought all of them were manual which means you would need to leave the fan on and the temp control set to hot when you get out of the car.
When its cold enough out and you have the heated seat option turned on, it will turn the heated seat on while the remote start is on. The indicator light will not be on. Also when you turn the key on it automatically turns the heated seat off. The only way to tell it worked is to sit in the seat and feel the heat (the surface of the seat may still be cold) but after sitting in it the heat comes through pretty quickly.
I never used it in the summer but now that its getting cooler out ive been using the remote start to warm up the car especially when walking out to my car from work, since I park it at the back of the parking lot by the time I get to my car its warmed up and ready to go.
