For when those Fiesta / Focus owners try to make fun of you...

A lot of Fiesta and Focus owners think they are superior to us Sonic owners I admit that Fiesta was high on my list when I was looking for a compact car a few months ago. It's a great car in its own way, but there was something about the interior that kept nagging at me, and in the end, this nagging was one of the many reasons why I decided that Fiesta wasn't for me. Suddenly, today, I realized what it was.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Fiesta's center stack:

I think the materials are better quality than the Sonic's interior, at least the plastics; but then you have to weigh that against the amount of space you get, which isn't much in the Fiesta. And I have to say, I HATE that recessed screen. It just looks so outdated.

Actually the guys on the Fast Lane Car did a mashup review of the Fiesta and Sonic recently... Guess which car did better? And most importantly, which one was their choice if they were to buy one?

Well, I don't really have anything against the nationality. But a "fiesta" tends to be loud, flamboyant, and tacky.

Ford's overstyled center stacks in use in the Focus and Fiesta just look... complicated. I definitely prefer the more simple approach in the Sonic, especially with MyLink.

But there is one thing where the Ford is superior. Has anyone counted the number of buttons on a Focus steering wheel? It is a tragedy that they couldn't find a few more functions to add so they could break the 20 mark.

You are right. I feel like the Sonic has the right number of controls for me to operate by memory, without looking. And I personally adore the motorcycle gauge. It's so bright and clear, and I always know exactly the speed I'm going at.

Another car that has a great interior is the new Mazda3. I just love it.

Oh, and the MINI and Fiat interiors are so much fun. But then, I'm a fan of that Euro touch.

The Fiesta interior was way too pointed out for me. I also didn't like the screen being recessed. The VW Golf/GTI interior is about as classy as one can find.

Yeah. VW interior is classic but well done. I don't like what they've done with the new models though, went to cheap plastic like our cars have. I liked the soft touch they had in the earlier models. If we're talking nice interior though my vote goes to Audi. Something more in our "price range" would have to be

Subaru, VW - both great, basic interiors. Ford just over did theirs, and Honda just feels so cheap and generic. Hyundai isn't bad either, I was actually impressed, a lot of good stuff for the price.

At the end of the day, I used to not like the motorcycle display so much, but it's really grown on me and I really enjoy it. I still would rather have the Cruze interior though. Feels much more high end. Maybe Cruze interior with the motorcycle display. That'd be perfect for me.
