Tis' the season, for crazy deer.

In my small town of Elizabeth nestled in western PA we have a lot of deer. A LOT OF DEER. As my gram was waiting at a stop sign a deer ran into the rear of her Suburban. That makes me think. Luckily for her she's not scared, because of her 3/4 ton Suburban being so big. But me, I'm driving slow and high beems on almost all the time. I was driving on one of are bigger 4 lane roade, route 51, and saw mutulated deer every couple miles. Which brings me to say.. I hate the rut.

I live in the city of Bowling Green, KY so no deer here but when I take any of the parkways and head outside of the city I see deer plattered all over the parkways.. seen 2 today just driving 10 miles outside of the city

It won't help when deer run into you, but look at the flip side.

Deer standing in road and you having to stop very fast from 65MPH. You'll be able to panic stop far quicker than any Suburban as well as maneuver around them when necessary to avoid them. I don't have any statistics but I'm guessing people run into deer more often than deer run into them (I do know it happens though).

I've seen it happen more than once.

Deer running into cars happens a lot here, usually during the rut when the bucks are chasing the does, neither one paying attention where they're going. I almost nailed three deer in the last two weeks. I'm so paranoid because I'm sure I won't be able to replace Kyrie, with CGM not being available from now on.. I feel like puking every time I think about it.

I always wished we were allowed to shoot the deer with hi-vis or reflective paint balls - would help in seeing them earlier

Killing a "friend" is never going to be easy whether its a Sonic or a SUV.

The sad part is that it wouldn't take much damage on our cars to total it out on a deer. A front impact as is usually the case, deploy all the damn airbags, buhbye Sonic. That is my fear.

Don't forget, I've already had one totaled.
But it was by a midsize Mitsubishi not a deer. Not sure what a deer would do and I don't want to find out.

I know . I remember seeing the pictures and I've seen deer do that kind of damage. Imagine hitting one full on instead of clipping the side.. Not pretty.

I totally understand. I'm probably 20 minutes from Elizabeth, and I see deer guts all over the road - ALL THE TIME!
