Anyone else autocross in their Sonic

Working torwards my 10 posts guys...so here's another :banana:

After a 4 year hiatus from SCCA autocross due to a Focus SVT that seemed to be breaking more than running, I took my new Sonic RS to the first one this year here in OKC. I was worried that the stock Hankooks would be an understeer nightmare and that it would just squeal around the course. However, since I had a passenger with me the whole time I found out it was quite balanced (even managed to get the tail loose a couple times) with body roll fairly minimal. After 8 runs, my course times were consistently faster than the new Camaros/Mustangs at the course. Down the road I am planning for much stickier tires and a Trifecta tune...Hopefully then I might start hanging with the Miatas on the course

Anyone else done any autocross in their Sonic yet?

Of course there are people who autocross. Once you have full access, make sure you visit the Motorsports forum to check out the auto-x and drag strip threads.

Well once I can get to those posts, I will...just 2 more to go

Just post "9" then "10" to get the last two posts. Then you just have to wait for the system to run the program and give you full access, which can take up to an hour.

Thanks for the info! I'm new to the whole forum thing so I wasn't sure if that is an appropriate way to get through the posting limit.

i have an intake and i just received my tune file for the full tune tonight that will be done. then im going to put an exhaust and coilovers on it. but we really only have one place near me in alaska to autocross.

Welcome fellow autoxer.
I ran my oem tires last year, they did a good job for me. Not the best, not the worse. Think I had 5 or 6 events on them before the cords started showing on one of them.
