In need of opinions

Hey guys. I've been saving up to buy a new car. I really want to buy a sonic hatchback. I've recently been learning how to drive a manual. I like it a lot and would really like to own a manual. I don't have too much experience driving one, but I would really like the practice. What would you recommend? Auto or manual? Thank you.

Manual all the way! IMO, it's a much more fun driving experience when driving a manual. I'm kicking myself in the butt for getting an auto...I miss my stick

This car has the easiest manual I've ever driven. You can take off in first without even giving the car gas lol.

I think the ECM automaticly gives it gas for you. It's supposed to make it easier to learn to drive stick. I've heard other members complain about it because they know how to drive stick without any help.

Heh.. I've driven manual vehicles since I was old enough to drive. More than half of the vehicles I've owned were manual, 4spd up to my 6spd in this. That would also include the school bus with the red button where you have to row all the speeds once, then flip the button and do it all again.. I forget what that's called, only drove it once. Was like a wrestling match to reach the gear shift and properly push in the clutch lol.

However I can see how it would be easy for a noob manual driver to learn on this, especially my extremely low geared RS.

It's called different things by different people. Splitting gears, High and low range, Overdrive/underdrive. I'm sure there are more names for the same thing I just don't know them.

I noticed that today I let the clutch out just a bit rpms went up on their own. Did it a few times just to make sure I wasn't crazy lol.

I wouldn't complain. It's still fun either way least it won't stall if you brain fart lol.

I vote for manual. My (soon to be) ex and I learned on and still drive stick, 3 of my 4 kids (I think I dropped the 1st one on her head) learned on and drive stick. That one looks like the one I just bought my younger daughter. :banana:
