Honestly, the difference between the two is so drastic in feel that I really need to drive it a while to form a true opinion, but I think I'll like it. The feel is very "race car" versus the floaty feel of stock. You can really feel the linkage now. I like that aspect. Second feels way different, and changing my shifting muscle memory will take a week or so, because I find myself shifting much harder than need be because my hand is so used to having to slam hard and fast into second because that's what was required for stock.
Bottom line, no regret and a great mod.
I especially like that I got the DDMWorks shift shipped for $125 that I found out later wasn't even supposed to fit my 2013 according to Dave at DDMWorks, but turns out my 2013 DOES have the same transmission as the 2012. I guess I got lucky since I apparently didn't read the product description well when I purchased since it states it's only for 2012's. I was so quick to order because I wanted a short shift but REFUSED to pay $225 for the red version, seems like a bit drastic of a mark up if you ask me....

By the way, all the directions for this mod are crazy understated. The best advice I'd give to anyone looking to install, get everything out of the way before messing with anything. Leverage is the key to this mod. From getting the useless plug off the stock arm to prying the arm off itself, leverage is key. Besides removing the battery, remove the battery tray, the computer attached to the tray, and get the coolant reservoir out of the way(plug the top hose). I would've saved a ton of time if I'd have just done all that at the onset versus following the instructions which are drastically oversimplified.

Yes, you are correct. While on the phone with Dave from DDM, I mentioned that he needed to change is product info for the shift arm so he'd sell more. Not to mention the nightmare that's potentially ahead of him from all the people waiting to buy his 2013 version of the shift arm while meanwhile they're sitting with a 2012 transmission.

Love the interior, its something i have been looking at doing with my sonic, but in white with some peices being black. Least now i have a good idea how it actually looks in the Car installed. So you say this was a pain to do huh. might look into having someone do it for me when i get around to getting it lol. opcorn:

Thanks man! There are those that think the orange is the less appealing color offered, but when I was shopping I couldn't see getting the hatch in any other color. I also like the fact that the color seems different in all types of lighting conditions too!

I wouldn't say that doing the trim is hard, but you definitely have to have hyper attention to detail and take plenty of time in doing it if you want it to turn out. If done right, you can't beat the look over stock and I get a lot of double takes when people see it...

Where did you get your Windows Tinted? I live in MN and the law is actually 50%. I couldn't find a place that would tint 35% (which is actually darker than 50%). There is a new law that can fine a store $10k if they are installing darker tint without medical prescription.

Really? How can you tell? Just curious - I'm a huge dynamat fan. I'm planning on putting some on the inside door panels to stop some of the buzz I get from bass out of the front speakers.

Well, depends how deep of an answer you want. Most all vehicles, especially Econ types like ours, lose 3dB of sound due to road noise alone. On the hatch specifically, because it's cover is held on by nothing but buttons, I get some SERIOUS buzz from the plastic because of the resonance off the sheet metal behind it. If you've taken yours off you'll see that all the creative metalwork has made a bunch of nice little caves for the sound waves to resonate, distort, and return back into the vehicle. The buzz I'm looking to delete is merely a side effect of that.

Got the Dynamat on the hatch door DONE!! What difference it makes too, highly recommended $100 mod for every Sonic owner, and a must have for anyone with subs. I was pleased to discover the source of the nightmarish rattle as well, but gone now! Comprehensive pics to follow....
