Interesting audio settings find...

Ok firstly, forgive me if this is old news.. so I've had my end-of-2013 RS for a few months now and loved the car but hated the sound system because it was so gutless.

Yesterday I was playing around with the Mylink system and found a menu button on the audio screen with my iPhone, which had 'tone settings'. In here I found settings for Bass, Mid Range and Treble which were all at '0'... so I adjusted the treble and mid with some music going and then turned the bass up to '12' to see what would happen...

I wasn't disappointed!

The bass thumped so hard it shook the RS and without meaning to, I made a few people turned around to see which stupid kid had his Sub pounding in the carpark!

Just thought this should be something everyone should know before condemning the factory sound system.

If you just found that make sure you mess with the direction next to it. I found it was too forward so I moved it back a bit and I'm infinitely happier because of it.

Make sure to adjust each input because they all have their own settings. I had the same issue where my iPod would sound great but radio was horrible then I adjusted all the settings and it was fine.

Thanks for the advice guys, i did play around with the direction adjust and found it sounded better pulled back slightly, and yeah my old car had different settings between inputs so I thought this might be the same situation.

Oh awesome finally found another Aussie! Im from north-western Victoria so quite remote, but I live in Melbourne for most of the year. Enjoy the RS when you get it! All my friends teased me about it at first but I didn't care because I was enjoying it too much! And now all their girlfriends (and my own) prefer my leather/suede heated seats

Cheers I've counted 4 of us so far here in Aus, so the numbers are building. I got teased when I brought my 07 Barina hatch but I was the one laughing at them when petrol prices skyrocketed to $1.60 a litre, so it has a remained a great buy. The RS is the new model, so I will be getting it and doing the Trifecta tune once I get it. Can't say how much that should be your first engine mod. Anyway thanks for the Mylink info, good to know I can get more decent sound from it :banana:

I didnt realize the MyLink had different tone settings per input until owning my RS for probably 6mo, defintitely glad that exists!
