Well look what we've got here...

The turbo is a gt2056. Garrett lists it as a 260hp turbo, but from my own experience, Garrett's numbers are conservative. Based on the compressor map, there's enough turbo here for 280 horses powers. I would expect to see 235-240whp at 19psi.

what do you plan on doing with the valve float issue

Valve float in these engines is a function of high rpm combined with the high boost pressure we all run to generate respectable power. Horsepower, by itself does not cause it.
Since the new turbo is quite a bit larger, I won't need to run 25psi to make 190whp. I should be able to make 190whp at 14-16psi on the new turbo. 25psi should yield 260+whp. We'll find out soon enough!

Hopefully the bottom end of the Sonic is capable of handling that little dude, and hopefully we are capable of circumventing the "nanny" sh*t storm that's gonna happen when the MAF finally sees some real airflow.

Should be ok, the MAF reads up to 15000 hZ. Worst case: scale the tune or adjust the intake diameter. That's the beauty of the blade-style MAF, just change the intake pipe diameter and adjust the MAF curve accordingly!

Now we will really start to find the weak spots in the engine needing upgraded in the 1.4, looks bad@ss Morgan!

Unfortunately, there will not be a way to integrate this into a stock or aftermarket down pipe. The location of the turbo prevents this.
I'll figure something out, but it looks like a new down pipe will be needed.
