Probably a dumb question, but What did you do to prep the chrome trim before painting them?

That's the sweet thing, I did next to nothing. Just clean with soap and water, dry thoroughly, and prime it. Buy the gray paintable/sandable primer from the site I mentioned, it's great stuff.

I had a question about your foglight addition, hope I didn't miss the details elsewhere.

Did you just buy the lights and upgraded switch from somewhere and use pre-existing wiring? My car came with the lights installed but no switch option, and I'd like to make them functional if it's worth it.

Finished installing the ZZP Turboback yesterday, and wow do you get an appreciation for the downpipe after looking inside of the stock, it's like blowing air out of a pack of coffee filters!

I may need to get under and do some adjustments as the pipes tend to knock against the body under some conditions due to minimal clearances in places, maybe someone could chime in and tell me if this is normal or not....

Love the sound and feel!!

I have to say, your issue with your fogs leaves me perplexed, none of it makes any sense but I'm sure you feel that way too. Not knowing anything about you I'd say to inquire with a tech and/or whoever sold you the car and find out what gives???

That being said, the part numbers for what you need are below, but what concerns me most is the activation. Every GM FOG LIGHT KIT comes with all the necessary parts, AND the extremely important "Authorization Code" (ie proof of purchase) that is required by the dealer to flash the BCM(Body Control Module) and the fogs WILL NOT work without this process.

I would say, if you had your repairs done at a certified shop, they should just be able to make a call to GM on your behalf and get the code. They could easily do the BCM flash for you as well at the same time, then it's ready to go when you get the harness and switch.

Aside from getting the ZZP exhaust installation wrapped up, thanks to the long holiday weekend, I was also able to get my new grill finished and installed. I wasn't sure how it would look, but when all said and done, I think it looks pretty good...

If you don't mind me asking. How much did you pay for your shark fin? And where did you get it at or from? I hate the look of the stock antenna on my sonic (mines the sedan) and I wanna change it out

Hood insulation

I noticed you had the insulation on the inside of the hood. My 2012 LT sedan
did not come with this. I wonder if I should buy it to protect the hood paint?

You should get the hoodliner that Dynamat sells, perfect.

Thanks brother, I am having a lot of fun with it....anyone on here will likely agree that it Sonic-ing becomes an addiction that can be all consuming at times. Even driving down the road in traffic, your mind is always on the lookout for the next "wow, that looks cool", to which you immediately start figuring how what you saw can be adapted to the Sonic.

Oh...it also helps to admit that I have absolutely no shame in copying someone's idea that I saw on SOF -BUT that's why we are here, right?

Definitely looking forward to another opinion on that. I just haven't had the gumption to go for it myself, given the high-rpm gains (good, but not where I spend a lot of time lol)

The paint is for various other things i'm thinking of painting, pics to come.

I spend quite a bit of time in high RPMS, at least gears 1-3, since I do a lot of highway driving. Because I have a bumper to bumper warranty to 100K, I have no choice but to keep a spare strategy with all critical components. I'm not going to swap intakes to bring my car in for an alternator fix, but if the engine blows, you can bet that i'll swap them before bringing it in!

My next project arrived in the mail today, so it's a great day for ME :banana: but not such a great day for whoever owned the Cruze that got totaled out with 19K miles on it that the intake came out of!!!

You win some and lose some I guess.....poor bast@#$

Also got my first set of dyno pulls scheduled for the first part of July, so it'll be cool to see what all this work has actually amounted to in raw data...
