drilling into rear bumper for backup camera

Wondering if I can drill a hole 1in diameter to fit this nice backup camera into it. I already have an 8in touch screen but don't want the camera mounted on with the license plate with the wire ran. Jw if I will have enough room to drill the hole and running the wire without running into the metal bumper behind the cover. Anyone done this? Let me know.

Or....you could just get something like this. Camera is made onto the tag light. Cheap, easy swap, clean look...

Granted, the camera may be low quality...but I would spend the $25 and try to retrofit the one you have into it before I drilled a hole in my car.

Beat me to it, but yeah I would much rather this option than to drill a hole in the bumper.

The camera on the plate option is way easier and its reversible. Drilling should work just fine depending on where you decide you want to put it. Its definitly possible though. Just measure twice cut once.

If you get under the car, even with all 4 wheels on the ground, you can look behind the bumper and depending on where you want the camera, you can see what's behind the bumper.

hell yeah thanks i like this one, just bought and will be putting it in when i get it. my buddy put in the one that requires drilling and it just looks good cause u can bearly see it. but the light one looks better and much easier. thank you
